How to do it
- Set the safety pins in a rack at about knee height and rest the barbell on them.
- Stand close to the bar, feet about hip-width, push your hips back with a flat back and grip it about shoulder-width.
- Push your hips forward and straighten your knees to stand up tall, shoulders back.
- Lower the bar slowly back onto the pins.
Beginner tip: Keep the bar close to your legs and your back flat.
