How to do it
- Stand close to a barbell on the floor, feet about hip width, bar over the middle of your feet.
- Bend your knees and hinge at your hips to grip the bar at shoulder width, back straight, chest up.
- Push the floor away with your legs and stand up tall, keeping the bar close to your legs.
- Hinge your hips back and bend your knees to lower the bar to the floor with control, back straight.
Beginner tip: Keep the bar close to your legs and your back straight all the way.
