How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width or closer, holding a barbell palms down in front of your thighs, knees slightly bent.
  2. Keep your back straight and hinge at the hips, sliding the bar down your legs.
  3. Lower until you feel a stretch in the back of your thighs.
  4. Push your hips forward to stand back up.

Beginner tip: Push your hips back like closing a door with them; keep your back flat.
