How to do it
- Set the Smith bar at about mid-thigh and hold it with an overhand, shoulder-width grip.
- Unhook the bar and stand tall with your arms straight down in front of you.
- Lead with your elbows out to the sides and pull the bar up close to your body to lower-chest height.
- Lower the bar slowly until your arms are straight.
Beginner tip: Lift only to lower-chest height; no need to pull up to your chin.
