How to do it
- Set the Smith machine bar just below knee height, stand close to it and bend your knees slightly.
- Hinge forward until your upper body is almost level with the floor, back straight; grip the bar palms down and twist to unhook.
- Pull the bar up to your belly, elbows close to your body, squeezing your back.
- Lower the bar slowly; when done, twist it to lock it back on the hooks.
Beginner tip: Keep your back straight and your body still while you pull.
